We’re excited to introduce a new flexible license model which will allow you to conveniently and cost-effectively support your customers within a multi-user environment without having to purchase seats for every user on your team. Here’s a detailed overview of what’s changed and how you can benefit from these changes.
What’s changed
Based on our previous user model, you had to purchase a SetMe seat for every member of your team that needed to work with remote computers. If the number of users that you created exceeded the purchased seat count, you would have to manually reassign seats between users whenever they needed to access the Expert application.
The new licensing model is based strictly on concurrent usage and the seats can be shared amongst a large number of users on your team. This means that the number of purchased seats now determines the maximum number of users that can be logged into the Expert console simultaneously. The more seats you get, the more techs can use the Expert app at the same time. A SetMe seat can also be used from any device, giving your team the freedom to share the available seats and work from anywhere.
Example: You’ve purchased 2 seats and created 6 users. Only 2 of the 6 users can be logged into the Expert console at a given time. Each of the 2 users can run an unlimited number of support sessions simultaneously.
Manage seat usage & assign permissions
Another valuable addition is our new intuitive logged-in user activity screen that allows technicians to view which users on their team are currently signed in and have active support sessions. Users can be granted the permission to disconnect another technician and automatically sign into the Expert console. Alternatively, they can wait for a seat to become available.
As an administrator, you can easily manage licensed user permissions within the Users section of your web portal.
Available user limits
Our plans come with their own licensed user limit. With SetMe Professional, you can have up to 3 licensed users per seat. SetMe Ultimate offers an expanded limit of 9 licensed users per seat.
The benefits of the new flexible seat model
These recent changes are meant to give more flexibility to businesses operating in multi-user environments where many technicians may potentially need to run support sessions, but not all at once.
The new license model will allow you to significantly cut costs: you can purchase as many seats as you need based on your concurrent usage requirements and maintain a larger number of users that will have full access to SetMe.
