New SetMe Feature: Enable 2FA Using Your Favorite Authenticator App

December 7, 2023 by Dan Kukarsky

Great news, everyone! In preparation for the upcoming release of our highly anticipated unattended access feature, we’re excited to announce that SetMe now supports enabling two-step verification via your favorite authenticator app.

This new enhancement will add an extra layer of security to protect your unattended machines and account from unauthorized access and allow you to conveniently sign in using a one-time code generated right on your mobile device. Over time we received numerous requests to add this feature, so we understand its value and are happy to finally deliver it to you.

The setup process is extremely straightforward and should feel familiar to you, so you can use your preferred tool for SetMe’s two-factor authentication without any learning curve. We currently support the most commonly used authenticator apps, such as Google Authenticator, Microsoft Authenticator, Authy, and Duo Mobile.

To set up multi-factor authentication on your SetMe account, sign into your account, click the Profile icon in the topbar of SetMe’s Expert console or web portal, then click My Profile. From there head over to the Password & Security section and click Enable two-factor authentication to start the setup process:

On top of that, you can now enable two-step verification via an authenticator app for other users on your account as an administrator. After enabling 2FA for another user on the account, they will need to scan a QR code with their preferred authenticator app and provide a one-time security code at the next login. You can find more detailed information on how to manage two-factor authentication settings for other users in our Help Center.

We know that you’ll find this feature useful, and we’d love to hear your feedback! Get in touch with our support team if you want to share a few words or suggest a feature.

If you still haven’t tried SetMe, the best time to start is now. Don’t miss out on our limited-discounted offer! Existing FixMe.IT users can take advantage of our loyalty discount and get 40% off SetMe’s regular price on the first 2 years of service. We’re happy to offer new customers without a FixMe.IT account a 30% discount off SetMe’s regular price on the first 2 years of service:
