Internet Explorer may sometimes display a black screen instead of the standard white background making it impossible to read a webpage. According to reports, other Windows apps using the IE engine to render their UI may also go black for seemingly no reason.
The root cause of the issue is unknown. Most likely, you won’t find anything after a malware scan. As suggested by WindowsReport, the black screen issue could be triggered by certain webpage features, or third-party add-ons or extensions. However, it can also attributed to your Internet Explorer’s Colors settings.
