FixMe.IT is a remote desktop tool that’s known to be extremely fast and easy to use. All you have to do is download and run the application and then you’ll be able to provide remote support to customers anytime, anywhere. With that, typically you don’t need to enable any additional settings to get FixMe.IT to work. However, there are businesses in industry-specific environments that put tight restrictions on what goes in and out of their network for the sake of security.
Since FixMe.IT requires communicating with an external server, our customers working in locked-down network environments such as financial, legal, healthcare, government, etc. sometimes ask what resources need to be enabled for the application to work correctly.
FixMe.IT doesn’t require any complicated port forwarding, as it runs through the standard port 443 (HTTPS) and utilizes port 80 (HTTP) in some cases. However, if you happen to experience problems when trying to run the app, ensure that access to the following domains is enabled in your network:
*.fixme.it
*.techinline.net
(where * refers to all subdomains of the domain)
Please also note that enabling access to IP addresses wouldn’t be as effective as enabling access to domains. The above-mentioned domains are fixed, while IPs are subject to future changes.
