Stay Connected to Your Clients from Any Location with FixMe.IT Unattended Access

September 28, 2016 by Dan Kukarsky

The FixMe.IT remote desktop application provides you with a number of great features and is known for its user-friendliness. For instance, you can easily install unattended access on up to 150 unattended machines, switch between multiple remote support sessions, share sessions with other techs on your team, etc. But what if you’re running a long-time job for one of your clients and need to work on their machine from various locations or workstations?

Let’s say you’re connected to a remote client and you would like to continue working from home without having to start over and over, request the Client ID once again, and so on.

Although FixMe.IT doesn’t have a feature that’s commonly known as “session transfer”, there is a helpful workaround that can serve as a substitution for this function.

The solution itself is rather simple: you can setup unattended access on a remote machine. This will let you access and manage remote computers whenever required, without the need to transfer a session to another workstation. It will also give you greater flexibility and peace of mind in terms of working from various locations, since you’ll have permanent access to all of your unattended clients.

In short, once connected, you’re always connected!

Configuring a remote user’s desktop for unattended access doesn’t require much effort. In fact, our application provides you with two handy options to install the FixMe.IT Unattended Client. First, you can set it up from the Expert toolbar upon starting the remote support session. Another option is to run an installer file on a remote client’s machine.

Watch the demo video below for more detailed explanation on how to setup unattended access on a remote workstation:

You can also read our recent blog post if you need to bulk install unattended access on multiple remote computers with a single psexec command, and watch the following short tutorial if you want to learn how to provide and edit groups for your unattended clients.
