During the installation process you may get persistent error notifications that vary case-by-case, but result in a similar update failure in the end.
In order to resolve the issue and run the updated Expert app successfully, follow these four simple steps:
- Permanently delete all existing FixMe.IT Expert components using a cleanup utility: download and run FixmeitExpertRemover.exe. The utility requires admin rights to perform the cleanup successfully.
- Install the updated Expert application using the following .msi file.
- Upon completing the installation, you can run the updated Expert application using the newly created shortcut icon.
The complete instructions can also be found in FixMe.IT’s Support Center.
There may be several causes of the described problem. Some of them are:
- The initial Windows Installer database file (.msi) and/or cache registration file is missing or damaged.
- The database is corrupted as a result of an incomplete installation/uninstallation procedure.
