We’d like to thank you all who have already joined the SetMe Beta Program, provided valuable feedback and voiced their concerns. In this article, we’re going to address some of the most frequently asked questions regarding our plans for both SetMe and FixMe.IT, as well as the new product’s upcoming features and pricing structure.
Without further ado, let’s dive into your questions.
What is SetMe and who is it for?
SetMe is our new all-in-one flagship solution that’s built using the latest technology and primarily designed for on-demand support and unattended access in today’s remote work era. SetMe’s concept is based on our 15-year experience with FixMe.IT, as well as your feedback and suggestions that we’ve accumulated over the years.
By offering a straightforward pricing model with a comprehensive feature set, SetMe is suitable for businesses of any size, from one-man IT support services to large corporations.
With its state-of-the-art architecture, SetMe is a next-level solution for secure cross-platform remote access and support.
Why is SetMe missing the unattended access feature?
Unattended access is our top priority, and our development team is working day and night to introduce it. This feature will be added in one of SetMe’s upcoming updates.
Initially, we had to make a number of temporary compromises to provide you with a fast and powerful cross-platform remote desktop app in the shortest possible time. Our commitment is to develop SetMe into a comprehensive solution that would meet all your needs and do much more than FixMe.IT ever could. This means that it will offer all of the key features currently available with FixMe.IT, and much more.
Once unattended access is released, will my existing unattended clients be transferred to SetMe?
Yes, we will offer a convenient solution for automatically migrating your existing unattended clients to SetMe. This will not require any manual input on your end.
Why should I choose SetMe instead of FixMe.IT?
SetMe is designed using the latest communication technologies, which better address the challenges of today’s remote work era and build a strong foundation for future improvements. With that, it delivers a more comprehensive solution for any IT professional. Thanks to its new advanced user management and reporting capabilities, SetMe also effectively meets the needs of those operating in a multi-user environment. As of today, SetMe offers the following features that FixMe.IT doesn’t have:
- Cross-platform support (potentially expanding to mobile devices and Linux machines)
- New corporate-level reporting features
- User management features
- Access to remote system information
- End-to-end encrypted remote desktop connection
- Advanced reboot & auto-reconnect capabilities
- Billing management features
Is FixMe.IT sticking around, or will it eventually become SetMe?
We know that you’ve come to love FixMe.IT and have made it one of the most recognized and top-rated remote support apps on the market. Rest assured that we also love FixMe.IT and will continue to fully support it and its existing feature set even after SetMe’s commercial release.
Rest assured that we won’t force you to switch to SetMe once the commercial version is released. The choice of whether to stick with FixMe.IT or switch to the new product is yours. If you find that FixMe.IT fully meets your needs with its feature set, you’ll be able to keep your current FixMe.IT subscription and get our support for any technical issues.
If you require any of the missing features that are currently in the pipeline (such as unattended access), you can use both products in tandem until these features are added to SetMe and beyond.
Can I use both products in tandem?
Yes, you can use both SetMe’s Beta and FixMe.IT simultaneously. It won’t cause any compatibility issues whatsoever.
Do you have a price plan for SetMe?
At this stage, we’re unable to reveal any specific rates because SetMe’s pricing structure hasn’t been finalized. However, we can share that initially there will be a single SetMe plan with a rich feature set geared towards both SMBs and multi-user environments.
Note that we will also offer early bird discounts for SetMe’s beta program participants and early adopters.
